Privacy Policy

This policy covers the apps published by Avandem, LLC ("Avandem", "we"), including Rickwell, and this website. We collect as little as we can and we do not sell personal data.

What we collect

• Anonymous account. On first launch the app creates a random account ID so your data can sync. No name or email is required. If you later sign in with Apple or Google, we store the identifier they provide and, if you allow it, your email address.
• Your content. Ratings, tasting notes, bottle inventory, prices you enter, wishlist, display name, and photos you attach. Ratings, notes, display name and bottle photos are visible to other users; prices and inventory are private to you.
• Label scans. When you scan a label, the photo is sent to our server and to Anthropic's Claude API to read the label text. The photo is used only to produce that result and is not used to train models. We keep the extracted text, not the scan photo, unless you choose to attach the photo to your shelf.
• Purchases. Handled by Apple or Google. We receive a purchase status, never your card details.
• Technical data. Crash reports and basic usage counts (for example, number of scans) to keep the free tier working.

How we use it

To run the app, sync your shelf between your devices, show community ratings, prevent abuse, and answer support requests. We do not sell your data, and we do not show third-party ads.

Who we share it with

Service providers that host and process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Anthropic (label reading), Apple and Google (sign-in and payments), and RevenueCat (purchase management). Each is bound to use the data only to provide their service. We disclose data if required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists. You can clear your device from Profile → Reset local data. To delete your account and server data, email support@avandem.com from the account's address; we complete deletion within 30 days. Community ratings you posted are removed with the account.

Children

Our apps are for adults of legal drinking age and are rated accordingly. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21 (or the legal drinking age where you live).

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. Email us and we'll honor them.

Changes

We'll post updates here and change the effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app.
